apartment therapy

You know what's more difficult than recovering from knee surgery? Re-decorating and re-organizing you apartment while recovering from knee surgery. It started small - my mother organized my freezer, and then declared that she needed some different containers in order to de-clutter my bathroom. Before I knew it, we had been at Christmas Tree shop four times in two days and all of my worldly belongings were in a pile in the middle of my (tiny) apartment.

So I wanted to share some pictures with you because I am so pleased with how it came out. The first thing you'll notice when you look at the pictures is that I am NOT one of those minimalist bitches. I have a ton of crap and I am proud of it. The second thing you'll notice is that I am obsessed with picture frames. My mother has officially put me on a ban. What nerve! My apartment isn't perfectly decorated but I think it definitely screams ME.

I lovelovelove my doormat!
First thing you see when you enter the apartment. My mom calls it my "Wall of Self-Involvement" ABSOLUTELY!
My "living room". The entrance/mini room is directly to the right. I love the black and white artwork with the pop of color from the couch and accessories.

Cuteness in an end table
Entertainment center - to the left is my entranceway and to the right is the opening for the kitchen (which is on the other side of the wall where I've got the entertainment center). Off course I have my black and white Yankees stadium picture up there. And do you see what I mean about the picture frames?
Part of my tiny, tiiiny kitchen. My mom made me take off most of the magnets, pictures, and cards that were on my fridge. SHE SAID THEY WERE TACKY. As if.

Roostie. He's awesome. And magnetic. Double awesome.
Eat Drink and Be Merry and Happy Hour - I have my priorities straight.
Right outside my kitchen leads to an open area that I consider to be my "bedroom". Here are where I keep some of my jewels and oh.. what's that? More picture frames? Yea..
Bed! And more black and white pictures. Can't get enough of those.
To the right of my bed is a doorway that leads to my nook and my bathroom. The desk is an old roll-top desk that I bought from the creepiest dude ever, thank you Craigslist! More pictures and the butterfly painting is something that my mom and I picked up at Homegoods for 19 dollars!

My bathroom is literally too small to take a picture of while I'm inside but this is what started it all. All of my products are organized in those little cubbies. It's AMAZING.
I hope you all enjoyed the photo tour of my closet - I mean apartment. For the first time since I moved in over a year ago, I really feel like it represents my personality. What do you think? Yay or nay?!
