three tidbits

1. There's this one couple that I always see on the bus in the mornings. The woman is beautiful - amazing curly red hair, and she always looks so put together. Her boyfriend is this blonde, lanky, bespectacled gentleman. It's actually amazing that I can remember so much about their appearance and facial features because THEY ARE ALWAYS ONE GROPE AWAY FROM HAVING SEX ON THE BUS. It started out at first with cute little pecks. I vomited in my mouth a little bit, but could deal with that. But last week it progressed and she was actually sitting on his lap and was performing what I can only describe as an examination of his mouth with her tongue. Delicious, right? Really not what I need to see first thing in the morning. Or ever, actually.

2. I'm going to be in Northern California for a whole almost two days for work in January. I'm very excited about this because Boston winters ruin my life and the chance to escape even for a short while is amazing. I've been warned that I'm not exactly going to be lounging in a bikini by the pool and that the temperature will only be in the mid-50's. But, DUDE, there very well may be a foot of snow on the ground in New England at that time. I'll totally take what I can get.

3. I entered the lottery for the Cherry Blossom 10 mile race that will be in April. And I got in! That means two things: One that I should probably start running regularly again, as I almost strained my groin during Sunday's 5k race. That's what taking a 2 month hiatus will do to you. In my defense, I did have tendinitis in my foot. Two, I'll be traveling down there for the first time in my life. It's amazing to me I, being the huge history nerd, have never been to the country's capital. I am literally squeeing with delight at all of the museums and monuments that we're planning to see while there. Seriously, in fourth grade we went to Philly and I just about cried when I saw the Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Indepdendence. I bet you didn't really believe the whole "history nerd" thing, did ya? Don't ever doubt me, I will prove you wrong. Every. Single. Time.

Very cool you'll be in Northern California! I've read your blog for a little while now and just became an honest to goodness 'follower', but had to comment since you're coming to my 'hood. It'll be cold and rainy, but not cold and snowy. =)

1. Wouldn't it be funny if they didn't actually know each other from anywhere? Their entire relationship was begun and is progressing solely on the bus! COOL! You will almost certainly be invited to the wedding! Or at least, there to see it.

2. Northern California? Like Frisco?? Or...Lodi? If it's Lodi, be careful. I know a guy who was just passing through there, must be seven months ago or more. Next thing he knew, ran out of time and money, then they took his friends. Basically, his plans fell through. So what I'm saying is, 2 day plan or not - watch out that Lodi! The whole place is a trap!

3. That sounds like a lottery where the prize is PAIN.

3a. I believed the "history nerd" thing first thing.

There's also a Lodi in NJ. Watch out for that one too, albeit, different reasons.

If you show up on the day in a plausibly awful dress, (with exact change for the fare) - how can they possibly deny you?

that was essentially my thought process. WHO COULD DENY ME?!
