we are family

I know that lately I've made more blog entries about my parents than anything else, but I cant help it. They are just unintentionally hilarious. Last night, as I was getting ready to meet my best friend for dinner, my mom comes into my room and shoves hangers in my face. Apparently that means that she's giving them to me. My dad then comes in and shoves an orange towards us and appears agitated. This is the conversation that follows:

Dad: So who is going to peel this for me?!
Mom: (yelling) I KNOW A TRICK OF HOW TO PEEL IT WILL YOU JUST LET ME SHOW YOU?!
Dad: I don't want to know your trick. Jessie, will you please just peel this for me?

I start to peel it and my mom literally rips it out of my hand and runs into the kitchen. She shows her "trick" to my unimpressed and hungry daddy. Once her little infomercial demonstration is over he hands it back to me, I finish peeling it, and then hand it to him. He starts eating, then suddenly stops, and looks at me.

Dad: Do you want some? Is that why you're still standing here?

Then we enjoyed a delicious orange in the kitchen. A few minutes later I walk into my parent's room, where my mom is watching The Ten Commandments. All she says is "Whoa, what a body Moses has".

I love my family.
