i'm alive, barely.

In case any of you were concerned or curious about me - I'm alive! It was really smart to drink about a bottle of wine and then a ton of keg beer the night before running a race. I woke up really early on Sunday morning and just felt... rough around the edges, to say the least. I popped some advil and played the "how much water can I drink without throwing up" game. I pretty much knew that the entire 3.1 mile run was going to make me regret every drop of alcohol that I had consumed. There were certain points during the race where I didn't even feel like I was actually moving, just sort of jogging in place. However, I got to the finish line and my time was 30:10. Weirdly enough, this is my second fastest 5k time EVER. I should get bombed more often before races.

Since I ran and sweated out my hangover, I decided to dedicate the rest of the day to drinking, which is a marathon in its own rite. I should have known that a car bomb at noon meant that I was in for a LONG day. After watching the parade and party-hopping in Southie, we ended up in Beacon Hill chowing down on the world's most delicious and garlicky pizza EVER. Seriously, we opened the box and all caught a whiff and went "whoaaaa garlic". I woke up this morning smelling like beer and garlic and let me tell you, it was not pretty. Even after a shower and dousing myself with body splash, I still feel as though I smell ike I've attached a couple of cloves to my necklace.

Yesterday the weather was beautiful, so warm and sunny. Today? Cloudy. Overcast. Cold. I wonder if Boston has a hangover too?
